Shop / powell peralta skateboard
In 1988, Powell-Peralta placed an "Artist Wanted" ad in TWS and Thrasher. The winner of the contest would secure a position in the Powell-Peralta art department in Santa Barbara. Sean Cliver was chosen as the artist, primarily due to his illustration style bearing a striking resemblance to VCJ's. Although Cliver's initial deck design, the Barbee Ragdoll, marked a departure from VCJ's traditional look, he paid homage to the master when updating the Caballero dragon graphic. The Cab became known as the "Ban This" Dragon, as it was prominently featured in a video (think slow-motion sequence). Originally Released in 1988, the artwork was created by Sean Cliver with the following specifications: Deck Width = 9.265", Deck Length = 32", Wheelbase = 14.75", Deck Nose = 6.5", Deck Tail = 6.5", Truck Hole Pattern = New School Short 4 Truck Hole Pattern, Shape 192, and Concave K15. Please note that the deck is sold separately, and griptape is not included.
